History and Development
Science Workshop® was co-founded in 2000 by Mrs. Debbie Hung, a dynamic Hong Kong woman with a passion to inspire young children’s interest in science and mathematics. Mrs. Hung subsequently retained full control of the company in 2006. As young mother, she understands the importance of fostering critical thinking and inquisitiveness to her children. She found many parents in Hong Kong sharing her belief, thus she established Science Workshop® with the aim to provide unsurpassed quality education. It offers off-school science education programs for children aged two to fifteen, a unique segment of the off-school education industry. This niche and expanding segment is distinctly different from art, music, language and sports, which have existed for a long time, and is much more academic in its approach.

The first workshop was set up in Central, Hong Kong in 2001. As the concept was unique, it received instant favorable reception. Science Workshop® soon expanded to the second workshop in Causeway Bay in 2003, and by 2007, the number of students reached 1,600 on an annual basis.

Science Workshop® currently has extensive institutional program with prestigious international and local schools in Hong Kong, and it also offered programs with institutions such as the Hong Kong Science Museum, Central Library, Cyberport and Hong Kong Government Quality Education Fund.

In preparation for the expansion outside of Hong Kong, the company has expanded its space in Causeway Bay starting January 15, 2008 to double the current size. The extra space will be used towards training of new staff for both Hong Kong
and overseas, and also for running extra programs due to popular demand.
